GREAT DANE RESCUE - ADOPTED BY THE KING OF THAILAND

WDT raids a farm where 13 Great Dane dogs were abandoned.
His Majesty the King has adopted 13 Great Danes, aged five months to two years that the WDT Foundation had rescued after being left to starve in cages by a breeder

WatchDogThailand coordinated the rescue of thirteen starving Great Danes that were chained or contained in cages and had been left to die at an abandoned breeding farm by the owner! WDT rushed to the home after receiving a call from the owner’s relative after one of the dogs and her two pups died on Sunday from the horrible conditions.
Volunteer veterinarians from WDT and the Livestock Development Office’s of Animal Welfare Division quickly attended a house on Monday in Lat Lum Kaeo, in central Thailand
According to WDT organisation, the farm owner said that he had tried to breed the dogs for sale but could not find buyers! He refused to give the dogs away because “he did not want them to be a burden on others” and stated that they can die on their own!
The Department of Livestock Development has now filed an animal cruelty case against the owner!

A palace aide sent by King Rama X helped to transport 13 starving Great Danes rescued by WDT welfare organisation to the Kasetsart University Veterinary Hospital on Wednesday.
The 13 Great Dane dogs are now under the royal care of the palace.
Vets are closely monitoring the dogs’ conditions at Five dogs are still in critical condition. All the dogs are underweight and seem to have been deprived of food for about a month,” Kongsak , a veterinarian at the university said.
“His Majesty always takes pity on animals,” a representative from Watchdog Thailand said! He is also a fan of WDT and also added that His Majesty regularly donates animal food to shelters nationwide and had also donated animal food to Pepe, a two-legged dog rescued by the WDT foundation in April!

The 13 Great Danes have been christened with names determined by the palace. WDT says the 8 females & 5 males are still recovering but on the bright side they will have a wonderful future of kindness and care now and even have
The five sick dogs still under close watch are named Batu, Bella, Kimberley, Araya and Dairy after well knownThai celebrities Bella Campen, Kimberley Anne, Woltemas Tiamsiri and Araya Alberta Hargate.
The healthier group consists of 4 males named Bizarro, Toro, Mhor Sup and Charlie. The 4 females are named Briohny, Benlisa, Kasalong, and Cheryl. Kasalong is the name of a character from “Klin Kasalong,” a 2019 Thai TV soap.

#Update on the condition of 13 Great Danes under the royal patronage of His Majesty the King.
After His Majesty the King accepted all the dogs for treatment at Kasetsart University Animal Hospital. The medical team treated and separated the dogs into two groups: Symptom monitoring group and groups that require urgent treatment for health care, nutrition, prevention and elimination of internal and external parasites. including any diagnosis of other diseases
