Monk using dog to pull cart

Royal Thai Police arrested another misbehaving Thai monk for repeatedly abusing animals - 2012*2016*2023.
A monk known for his travels around the country with three dogs pulling a cart has been nabbed again for alleged animal cruelty.
‘Nootee Suttathammo’ rose to internet fame years ago because of his Golden Retriever pulling a cart, today is facing charges of animal cruelty!
‘Nootee’ already had been arrested several times over the years for animal cruelty. He only dressed up as a monk to get offerings and money from the people!

First case of abuse was in 2012, Nootee previously owned a Golden Retriever,’Somwang’ would pull a food cart alongside his master every day, eliciting many a smile from the locals.
Then 4 years later, the cuteness appeared more like cruelty as ‘Somwang’ was getting old. Somwang’s video went viral and made headlines in local media.
Watchdog Thailand sent the dog to the vet, and he was diagnosed with a hip joint problem and poor vision.

In 2023 - ‘Nootee’ revealed that he drove his van from Nakhon Ratchasima province to Khon Kaen province to receive food donations. The monk insisted neither he or his three dogs have "ever caused any trouble to people" during their long trips across the provinces then he allegedly admitted to his abusive acts against the dogs
but refused to leave the monk hood. Police then checked ‘Nootee’s criminal record and found that he was not a monk at all as he had already been forced to leave the monk hood since his first arrest in 2018
The monk had adopted and trained two new dogs to pull a cart, which he found beneficial to his alms rounds as residents would feel pity for the dogs and make bigger offerings, he said!
He has also used a goat, a donkey, a horse, and even a pig to pull his cart since 2012.
The sight of a monk using dogs to pull a food cart during morning alms no longer elicits smiles from locals after they noticed how exhausted the animals looked.
The new dogs Song and Sam reportedly looked sick and dehydrated!

Social media comments were: ‘Do not make any offerings to this monk, Nootee again! This time he’s abusing a Siberian Husky! This monk has already been arrested before but he is not afraid of the law!
He is not a monk, he is a beggar! Someone ask WDT for help!
Residents who filed the report have asked a local animal hospital to examine the dogs and issue a note for the prosecution, WDT has stated!
Watchdog Thailand claimed this pretend monk ‘Nootee’ has treated at least five dogs cruelly in the past four years by forcing them to pull the cart
Nootee the monk faces two charges for his actions, including:
* Section 423 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Animal Welfare Act: Abusing animals. The penalty is imprisonment for up to two years, a fine of 40,000 baht, or both.
* Section 208 of the Criminal Law: Illegally dressing or using a symbol of a monk. The penalty is imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of 20,000 baht, or both.
The Siberian Husky is now under the care of the WDT Foundation

WDT recently shared photographs of Nootee a 65 year old Thai monk, on their official Facebook page on September - 2023
These images depict Nootee accepting food offerings in the morning and subjecting a white-brown Siberian Husky dog to pull a cart.
